The University of Nîmes has an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer and three Gender Equality, Anti-Discrimination and Secularism Officers. Appointed by the President and attached to the Administration vice-presidency, advisors and the project manager take action to meet three challenges:
For any questions relating to inclusion and diversity, please contact Elodie Charbonnier, Project Manager: (elodie.charbonnier @ unimes.fr)elodie.charbonnier @ unimes.fr (elodie.charbonnier @ unimes.fr) (elodie.charbonnier @ unimes.fr)
The role of the Gender Equality Officer is to listen and inform students, raise their awareness of power abuse and sexual harassment. In collaboration with the project manager, he also implements initiatives aimed at reducing inequalities between men and women, in particular by helping young men and women to enter fields in which they are in minority and by encouraging them to pursue PhD studies.
If you think you have witnessed or been the victim of sexist and/or sexual violence, please contact: referent.egalite @ unimes.fr (referent.egalite @ unimes.fr)
The Anti-Discrimination Officer is responsible for being the main contact for any student faced with a situation involving racism, anti-semitism, homophobia or transphobia. In collaboration with the officer in charge, she implements national plans to fight every form of discrimination and provides university community resources to prevent and fight discrimination.
As part of a university policy which respects students’ rights to non-discrimination based on gender identity, the University of Nîmes has a procedure for changing first names.
If you believe that you are a victim or witness of discrimination, as a student, on a specific criterion and in a specific area, please contact: referent.discrimination@unimes.fr (referent.discriminations @ unimes.fr)
The Secularism Officer is responsible for promoting secularism in higher education, providing support and answering questions on secularism and religion at the University of Nîmes.
If you have any questions about secularism, please contact Nicolas Leroy, Secularism Officer: referent.laicite @ unimes.fr (referent.laicite @ unimes.fr)

As part of a university policy which respects students’ rights not to be discriminated on the basis of gender identity, the University of Nîmes has a procedure for changing first names.
The Anti-Discrimination Officer, the Department of Studies and Student Life (DEVE) and the Department of Information Systems and Digital Use (DSIUN) are responsible for implementing this procedure, which enables transgender, non-binary and intersex students to use their customary first name in their university and student life.
To take this step, students should contact Anne-Lise Taibi, the Anti-Discrimination Officer, by requesting an appointment at the following address: referent.discrimination @ unimes.fr (referent.discrimination @ unimes.fr)
